Does your couch have removeable cushion covers? If it does I would highly recommend that you wash the covers on a gentle cycle and hang to dry.. If you hang them outside...Just hang them inside out.. On the frame I would buy some baking soda and sprinke it liberally on the sofa and maybe if you will see signs of life... If so, vacuum the baking soda up and have your sofa professionally cleaned... Oh and strip your bed/sprinkle with soda and do the same....

this sounds like bed bugs they live in the cracks of your couches and mattress heres how you can tell if its bed bugs.....look at the lower crease of the mattress and see if you find dark dots like dark brown to black this is their poop wich is also bloody they are tiny bugs looking alot like ticks but much smaller and int he couch look between the cushions for the same markings if you have this the best remedy is to throw the furniture away because its nearly impossible to rid of these bugs they keep coming back cuz they hide in tiny crevices...they come out at night to feed on a host...YOU it itches and u may find tiny lil red dots on your body they will never go away while they have a host ever

Your skin is just probably sensitive to the material of your couch and not bugs - I feel this way with one of my cover up blankets.

these are mites...I have seen them too -they are everywhere and we bring them in on our shoes and clothing and hair from the outside. sometimes you can see them floating in the wind in the sunlight they look like dust...they may actually be dust mites and some just maybe feasting on our dead skin....I saw a tv special on this somewhere ...they mutiply like crazy and love the crevices of your couch they come out when you get comfy to watch tv because in their tiny minds(if they have one) you are dinner
