I've just renovated my bathroom and the final thing was to install our new toilet - it doesn't fit!!! We went back to the store and they said all toilets are a standard size - the problem is there is only 10 inches between where the bolts go and the wall and we need 12 for any of the toilets that are now made. Any ideas???????

Our yard is bordered by an ugly grey cinder block wall. We have a lovely vine covering it 7 months of the year but the leaves fall off during cold months. My husband doesn't want to put a trellis in front because we have 13-year old grapevines there (which also disappear in winter). Is there a vine that will:
1. climb a wall
2. hold leaves in somewhat cold weather
3. survive SoCal summer heat?

I live in C.A. and I have at some places seen a carpet like growth of tiny clovers about 1/4 or 1/3 of the size of regular clovers, I usually find them growing in very moist, shaded places where moss grows very well. I have seen it grow under bushes, behind brick walls, and under concrete steps. I love the plant but don't know what it is called, it's oh so green. I love moss also ;)

The tire came off the rim of a lawnmower. I'm unable to put the tire back on the rim so that it can be re-inflated. How do I put the tire back on so that it fits on the rim so that when I put the air back in it stays in.

I'm refinishing an old cabinet/sideboard/? that I got for free from an old neighbor. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's low, like a sideboard, with three doors. When I got it, there were no knobs, but there is a hole in each door.

The problem is, the holes are RIGHT in the center of the doors! Is there any reason for this? Would this be an OK place to put the knobs? Or would it be better to drill new holes on the side, and if I did that, what would I do about the old holes?

I know there were a lot of questions there - any help or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

My husband thought that I had bought a roman tub faucet for our new jacuzzi tub, but I bought a wall mount. The roman tub faucet just don't have enough room. So now I have three pretty little holes in the corner of my tub! Any idea of how to cover it? Does Jacuzzi sell a 'corner plate' or something? If not any other ideas? I don't want a 'hole-y' tub! Thanks!

Is it even possible if animals have been living in a home for years? Just moved into a new home and the former owners had two dogs and a cat, and it smells disgusting in the basement.

I saw a couple of joint compound at home depot. What is the difference between top-layer and all purpose? Is top-layer more special for some reason. And are there other types out there.

Hello! I am from Tampa, Florida - I am trying to find the perfect tree (maybe topiary or ornamental) to plant along side of our house where you can see underneath the tree so the snakes can't hide or are visible if they are there...any suggestions on the best tree to get?

The breadmaker, used twice because it takes so long to bake a loaf the size of a cup cake. The electric egg boiler for every time you need 6 eggs boiled? The breville sandwich toaster, which is such a pain to clean you never use it. The electric juicer? The chocolate fountain the kids tip over the carpet every time they use it? The electric cocktail mixer?

A few days ago my wife woke me up with news that the lights were out in both the fridge and freeze in our 7 year old Frididaire side by side. I found the breaker tripped, reset it, and went about my day. Today several days later I've noticed that the ice maker isn't working. I removed the unit from the freezer and it had ice cubes in the mold (not a water supply problem). I thawed out the mold and examined the mechanical parts - everything looks ok - nothing broken, I could even turn the gear in the direction of the arrow and it moved. The freezer is as cold as it normally is. What else could be the problem? My guess is that the motor has burnt up and when it did it caused the breaker to trip, but I'm no expert on these things. If that's the case, would I be better off replacing the entire ice maker or replacing individual parts? Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Thanks.
