They probably are very much in debt or have parents helping pay for the house via inheritance and or handouts.
You know anyone can get the loan for this type of house if you have a semi decent job but can you afford all the extras the banker will not tell you about after you buy the house, like insurance, phone, gas, electric, water & sewer, cable t.v.trash pickup, etc. This is what gets people in trouble after the fact these things add up to alot of extra needed income thus you really need to be careful and not let the bankers persuade you into something that you cannot afford and still be comfortable. Then if you plan on having children well this is a whole different story.

It actually depends on the square footage of the home. A 2000 sq. ft. home isn't going to cost as much as a 3500 sq. ft. home or larger. And the price depends on the area of the country you live in. A 2000 sq. ft. home in California is around a million. That same home in Kentucky would probably be $250,000 or $300,000. Our neighborhood homes are $600,000 and above and we are in Delaware. The same home we had in Maryland was twice as much. You don't buy into this neighborhood unless you have the salary and disposable income to pay for it. Homes have to be furnished, window coverings have to be selected etc. There are always tons of expenses in home ownership. You have to choose the home that fits your earnings and do the homework to know what owning a home actually costs.
