I am about to remove wallpaper that has been on the walls since the house was built 27 years ago. We want to paint the walls, not repaper. I can see white gloss paint near the door frames on the walls under the paper. How does someone go about sorting this out and do a good job. Help!

First of all...I just purchased 55 plants such as crape myrtle, shrubs, oleander, hibiscus, texas mountain laurel, plumbago, etc at Lowe's. All for $3.25.
You should call your Lowes to see if they have this stuff on the clearance racks too and go take advantage of the cheap prices! They need a little TLC, but still look great!

My question is...the lantanas I purchased did not come with directions. how big do they grow?

thanks!

I need to know what kind of thermometer will give me the best measurement of temperature of the water from my hot water heater, and where I'd find one. The electric water heater in my apartment doesn't seem to perform too well; in my city, the maxiumum temperature for a hot water heater is 120F, and I want to see what mine is producing.

Thanks!

I hope someone can help! I have a walnut tree in my garden which has recently produced lots of walnuts :) They have been lying on the ground for a while and their husks have in most cases rotted away entirely, leaving the recognizable walnut shells. I have collected them all in a bag. They are damp as it has been raining a lot. I'm worried I left them too long outside getting damp. Does anyone know if they are still ok to eat and should I dry them for a period of time? Sorry if it's a silly question!

Brand new topsoil was installed a few weeks ago and raked.

I live in South-East England and it is currently wet and 15C in the day and 10C at night but it is expected to get milder in the next few days.

I've started working on my basement and have finally reached the drywall stage. The price doesn't seem that different for the three thicknesses of drywall, but the weight does. I'm using a drywall lift, so I guess the weight doesn't matter.

What thickness should I be using on my ceiling and walls? Does it matter at all? If I need one thickness on the ceiling, does it need to be the same on the walls?

I'm trying to find the general weather prediction for the month of October from the Old Farmers Almanac, and am having a heck of a time finding a 2007 version! Looks like the 2008 was just released, and my local library already recycled the 2007 (despite the fact that Oct 2007 is covered in the 2007 version... and we've just entered October...). The info I'm seeking is the part where they give predictions for chunks of days, like "Oct 1-5 partially sunny, Oct 6-10 humid and clear" etc. along with anything on temps & rain being above/below average. I'm in Region 2 (CT) and would love if anyone has the 2007 version to relay the predictions for all of October - thanks so much!

I am planning on painting my bedroom. It is now a VERY light green to a caramel color. Do I need to prime for that? I know I may need more than one coat if I dont prime.
Thanks!
