I HAVE 3 TO 4 ACRES I'M GOING TO PLANT RYE GRASS THIS WINTER FOR MY HORSES. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO RESEARCH IT AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT TYPE OF RYE GRASS WOULD BE THE BEST FOR THEM. WRENS ABRUZZI, MARSHALL, OR BULLDOG GRAZIER. I DO HAVE A SEPERATE PASTURE FOR THEM WHILE IT'S GROWING SO THAT WON'T BE A PROBLEM I JUST NEED SO SUGGESTIONS ON WHATS THE BEST KIND OF RYE FOR SOUTH CAROLINA.

We plant Marshall ryegrass for our horses. It seems to do well in north Texas.

The folks I used to work for at Far Winds, Calabash, NC (I'm in Longs SC now) grew coastal bermuda year round. Beautiful hay. Good grazing. Sorry, I don't know much about rye, do have some alfalfa seed if you'd like it.

Geez, where's RScott when you need him? *Yo, RR, you out there?*
