I had a half gallon jug of Almond oil in the trunk of my car. I guess from rolling around in the trunk, the lid loosened up and came off. The whole 1/2 gallon of oil soaked the trunk of my car. About a month later, I noticed it seaping through to the back seat. Now after a year of trying to soak it up, shampooing it with my own shampooer, and getting it professionally shampooed, I cannot get the oil out of my seat or trunk! Now its starting to smell like old, stale oil. I have been Febreezing it, but i really want to get the oil out WITHOUT replacing the back seat and truck. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

I have a 8'1 x 8'7' room and would like to fit a small double bed and a small wardrobe. Do you think it might be possible. I am looking for a slim wardrobe. Does anyone have any ideas where to get slimline wardrobe for a few pieces of clothes and a small double bed and what I can do to make it look spacious? I am decorating for my Brother who has just come out of the hospital and want to make it special for him.

I will really appreciate if anyone can advice me on where I can buy a small wardrobe and bed. Be great if it is cheap as well.

Thank you!

I have a wind-up mechanical analog clock, the kind that you wind with a key and that runs with a swinging pendulum. Since the day I bought it, it's been losing time steadily - it runs about a minute slow per day, so about every two weeks it's off by a quarter of an hour and has to be changed.

Can anybody tell me what I can do to make this clock keep more accurate time? I heard somewhere that problems like this are to do with the pendulum being not right, what can I do about this?

every time i go back to work on my model railway the door bell rings. i go to check and there is no one there. i sit down again and off it goes. one day i opened the door and my bin spilled all over the payment because it seemed to have got caught up with a bit of string on my door handle. i have asked the kids on the street and they said they will look out for whoever it is , which was rather nice of them

I'm moving into my dorm for the first time, and I'm still getting things together before I leave. I'm wanting to decorate in cozy, relaxing, warm colors. My new bedding is: a white Nautica comforter, deep red sheets, and deep red & white silky pillowcases. What colors would compliment the red. I've heard green, but does anyone know what shades of green would work? Any other suggestions would be welcomed!
Thanks!

*I'm not sure where to post this so it is posted in 2 different catergories.*
We have recently bought our first home which is quite old and needs a bit of work to make it liveable (due to the previous occupants being smokers and also they must of been high when they decorated lol)
On the outside wall next to the front door they painted the house number with what looks like normal white paint (emulsion?) This looks terrible and is so big a nice number plaque will not cover it.
My question is, is there any cheap and efficient way of removing this paint without risk of it smearing and looking worse? I don't fancy having to buy expensive chemicals in large amounts for a one off job.

I have 2 window A/C units that are old and very noisy. Everytime you tap them, the noise changes. I guess I need to make some sort of insulating frame for them so as not to vibrate off the window frames. But I'm sure they will still make other noises. Anybody have any tips on how to make them run quieter at night?

We have quite a large fish pond, holds approximately 7,500 litres. Size is about 14 feet by about 6, kidney shaped, deeper at one end than the other. There's about 30 fish in it - mainly goldfish and koi

We can't get the water to clear. Filter, pump and UV are relatively new. We've bought several "pond clearing" products from the local garden centre but still can't get it to clear. We've had the water tested so we know that's OK

Any help would be much appreciated

I'd like to fill in some stone steps to make them into a small ramp. I have no experience with this kind of thing so can anyone recommend a material I can use to do this? Is there a packaged material like cement that I can buy, without any complicated mixing involved, that I can just mold around the steps?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
