can i just use lime, fertilize, seed, and topsoil or do I have to get most of the gravel out. Gravel was placed by last owner of house as he had cars in the back. It is a rather large back yard and half is gravel, some grass is growing but not much soil in upper half of yard.

I live on the top floor of a three story brick building. Since I moved in nearly three years ago, I have heard the sound of debris falling from the ceiling to the floor behind my plaster walls. Whereas previously I heard the sound every couple of months, it's been more common recently--as frequently as every couple of days.

It sounds like chipped plaster falling.

I hear it in two separate rooms, though those are the rooms I spent the greatest amount of time in, so I may not be noticing if it is happening in other rooms.

The noises happen in the wall that is an exterior wall facing west, as well as those that are perpendicular to the west exterior wall, but are interior.

The building was recently spot tuckpointed.

Anyone have an idea of what's causing the mystery noise? It's definitely happening within the walls, as opposed to something outside the building. Any help is appreciated!

I was varnishing some stuff today, and I used gasoline in order to get the varnish off. (Yeah, I know I could have used other mineral spirits instead, but I used gasoline anyways.) Now my hands smell like gasoline, and I'm annoyed by the fact that I smell like I'm about to start on fire. I even washed my hands with Palmolive like 4 times, and that stuff is strong, but the gasoline smell is still there!

I have two Hydrangea plants in a clay container on my patio. They get eastern exposure, and plenty of water. My blooms have turned the same color the leaves are. How can I remedy this? I had one blue and one pink when i started out, and have made no change in the environment. I think the neighborhood cats have sprayed them. How do I get the color back? Is there a website that gives me care tips on it? Did a google search and couldn't find too much useful info. Have some moon seeds would like to start, but know nothing about them. Any help MUCH appreciated. : )

This year, I have had an unusual number of slugs on my deck. Does anyone know any other suggestions besides the old death by salt trick? Any chemicals they sell at Home Depot kill slugs?

It's the crazy-paving flagstones which surrounds my garden.

I blasted the crazy paving with a pressure washer a few weeks ago (the area was dirty and now it's much really clean).....

.....but the downside being it's removed moss around some of the paving joints which seems to have eaten in to the mortar joints to leave gaps... and now grass has sprung up through those gaps.

I'm not exactly sure what mortar is, how to use it, or where to get it from?

Or is there a better alternative that I could try to fill the gaps with please?

Theres only a few gaps so I don't need a huge bag of mortar-type stuff anyway.

I just got a hand me down older John Deere 175 riding mower. All the attachments were off of it and I am trying to figure out how to attach the mower deck. Does anyone know where to find exploded views or manuals for older John Deere mowers online? I've almost got it on, but cant figure out how to attach a couple of the suspension bar / leveler things.
I don't really want to buy one, cause the father in law says he has it, just has not found it yet.
