It's the crazy-paving flagstones which surrounds my garden.

I blasted the crazy paving with a pressure washer a few weeks ago (the area was dirty and now it's much really clean).....

.....but the downside being it's removed moss around some of the paving joints which seems to have eaten in to the mortar joints to leave gaps... and now grass has sprung up through those gaps.

I'm not exactly sure what mortar is, how to use it, or where to get it from?

Or is there a better alternative that I could try to fill the gaps with please?

Theres only a few gaps so I don't need a huge bag of mortar-type stuff anyway.

i would use a total vegetation killer. you can get it near the weed killer section at home depot. just spray it in between the gaps and it should keep the grass out for 6-8 months. good luck!

Hello- I use a torch weeder for this purpose. It works very well.
Prior to buying a torch weeder I simply used a plumbers torch. I was inspired by my neighbor who guaranteed me his method of torching his weeds between the pavment cracks would last longer than my method of pulling and using round up. He was right- a month from that Saturday- I had new weeds beginning to sprout and his cracks were totally weed free.
The plumbers torch takes longer than the weed torch and blows itself out often, but it's dirt cheap- the canister is only about 3 bucks. It lasts a pretty long time- say an entire season.
Try it- if you like the results you can buy the weed torch.
PS- Neither ever left any marks on the concrete or stones.

You need to clean out the gaps with a screwdriver to a deph of say quarter inch.Put in kiln dried sand which can be bought at any good DIY store. The sand has all the nutrients dried out meaning that vegetation will not grow in it.But you must not use a pressure hose you will make matters worse. The sand will settle in time and job well done.

The best way to grout between paving slabs is a semi-dry mix of sand/cement and waterproofer.
Failing that - you can buy a small bag of rapid setting cement.
Just add water and mix it to a paste and carefully squeeze it into the gaps.
be careful though as it can go off very quickly (even as you mix it)

get some sodium chlorate from your garden centre or diy store, spray into yhe paving joints, the re do the joints with a mix of 4parts grit sand to 1 part cement.Keep the mix semi dry so you can just brush it in without marking your paving.Sodium chlorate is the best weed killer on the market and fairly cheap.
