Plug the machine into another room with an extension cord and if it doesnt trip the breaker, then you know that the problem is with your house wiring. Otherwise your motor is probably frozen up.

more info would be nice such as is this washer a new replacement or have you had it for a while.......or did you just move into a new house.

Circuits get tripped because the electricity load is too heavy.

what the first guy said is the best way to test it, the other thing to do would be check the box and see if you can tell what other sockets share with the washer circuit.......it shouldn't be very many.

also........the Neptune is notorious for being the problem child of front loading washers--with that being said, you never know what it could be! .....its one BIG reason Maytag had financial woes--Whirlpool bought out Maytag a few years ago.

good luck!

2 things.

1. You have a problem with the electrical wiring in the house, mainly a bad circuit breaker that will not hold the current.

2. You have a problem with the washing machine. A fault is causing the current to exceed the max rating. A bad motor or a shorted wire that may have had the insulation worn through by the vibration of the washer.

Call that Maytag repairman and tell him that he finally has a call. good luck.

I agree with the last one. In our area (and most I would think) one must have a separate breaker for the washer by code. Check to see what is not operating with the breaker off and you will have identified what is coming on when the washer is also on, to blow the breaker. There is no safety problem here, just a code violation and a nasty inconvenience.

You evidently have an electrical problem that trips the circuit breaker for safety reasons... You need to look at the cord from the washer to your electrical outlet and the outlet itself to make sure the cord has not intrusions or cuts and that the plug is stable... Would bet its your cord from washer to outlet//
