Refreshing my memory been a while so wondering how to lay carpet with a seam. Don't have enough carpet so have some extra carpet that looks the same that I need to use so wanting to lay the carpet with a seam so all the carpet will look as one.

I found a dead cockroach in my kitchen floor this morning before I left for work. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to clean it up. I'm home now and I see that the cockroach is gone. Where could it have gone to? I know I wasn't hallucinating. It was there this morning on its back and it wasn't moving so I assumed it was dead. Unless it was playing dead... can they do that???

I'll be honest, my gardens always come out pretty great.
However it seems to me it's just common sense, lol--planting, upkeeping w/watering, ect.
Do you have any comparisons contrary?
Or any wonderful stories w/phenomenal gardening that's particuliar unusual please?

I have 400 gallon hot tub that needs to be drained and I would like a pump that can empty it within 15-20 minutes (i.e. ~1600 gpm). i plan to drain the hot tub every 3 months. FYI, i have seen some that have top handles to easily place the pump into the hot tub and it seems like a nice feature.

please provide specific make and model of the submersible pump you use to drain your outdoor hot tub. if you have a web link to a site which sells them, please list that also.

would like to spend less than $100 on a pump if possible.

Hey everyone. I am looking for a new comforter because the one I have has about had it. Anyways, I have been looking for a reversible one that is solid on one side and a pattern on the other. I found this really cool one on sears.com, although I have not seen it in person. I was wondering if anyone has it or anyone knows about it or works at Sears, and knows about it. Anyways, the site says that it's reversible. I know that on one side it is stripes, but I don't know whats on the other side. Ok. Can anyone tell me if you know whats on the other side? ? I went up there and to install a bath fan and it was ridiculously hot. There are currently grated vents at each end of the attic, and grated vents about every 10-15 feet under the gutters. There is also about 1 ft of blown in insulation. I was thinking of installing a gable fan connected to a thermostat. If I were to do this, at what temperature should I set the thermostat? And should the fan blow air inward or outward? I live in Louisville, KY.

I live in SW Oklahoma and it has been raining almost everyday for the past 3 months and rain totals are close to 1/2 to 1" of water per day. the temps are only in the low 80's. My problem is my garden looks like hell, the plant's seem to stand in water most of the day, no sun to speak of, the garden is very well planned out in a large raised bed, with good drainage in normal years, and well balanced soil, this place is like the desert most years, I guess my question is would you consider this to be a total loss and just move on or should i try to hang in there, and for how long. ??

it 78 degrees at our house. i cant take it. how can i cool it down. im 15 and dont have a fan. dont have AC. tried opening a window. didnt work. tried cold showers. still didnt work. what should i do? its too hot. i havent slept in three days. i would like to get some sleep. but i cant because its too hot. my mom wont buy AC or a fan. we are so poor, we can hardly eat. no joke. what should i do? how can i make this house down to 60 degrees? even 70 isnt good enough! help me! please!
