Since pine is a light 'blonde' wood, and eggplant so dark, I would use a light to midtone in :
aqua or turquoise
leaf, grass, or pine green
mid-tone yellow gold [ too light or too yellow won't work ]
coral or salmon
Then add accessories [ drapes, rug, pillows, etc. ] in wall, couch, or wood [ 'bleached blonde' ] colors.

Try staying in the neutral colors in the beige family. Something like a kaki or a little darker like a mocha is hot. It could be plain color, floral, plaid, or other types. Faux leather is a real treat and very inexpensive too. You can even buy it at Walmart now for about $5 a yard.
Use some red, yellow, green pillows for accents with greenery plants and glass with the eggplant color to make it pop! Be subtle about making it LOUD with color, all you need is a hint of interest.
Maybe accent with some small pieces of wicker like a small lamp or something to help accent the woody pine furniture.
Mixing different colors of woods will help keep you in harmony and bring out the personality of each piece by complimenting each other.
If you refer to the color wheel, you will see what colors match what you have.

pine has a nice color.
i think a shade of yellow or beige would be fine. that way, your purple couch would "come out". the couch can actually be the accent piece/color.

hi... it totally depends on yr preferences and what mood are u trying to achieve... but i'll b happy 2 give u some hints:
- if yr looking for something exciting and maybe even dramatic, use the yellow family of colors, for they are the complemetary to your purple...
- but if u need something relaxing and cool things down, resort to blues and greens... maybe both!
- for a very cosy and excting feel, some degrees of red are good... maybe burgundy...
- if u like to shock yr guests use a propor orange... with the purple u mentioned it'll b so out-there and so modern...
- but whatever u accent yr room with, try and vary the patterns and textures u're using if u like that...!
hope i helped... good luck and have fun...! :)

A light beige or cream color would be pretty, as would a color a little lighter than the couch.

Any shade of green would look good. In fact pillows of varying shades of green would be very elegant looking. Whites would be nice too. Black also goes well with anything. Or a combination of those done very sparsely might be nice too.
Good luck.

I think a soft yellow or cream would do nice. How's the lighting in the space. What are your accents?
