Yeah, the word doily is cute and funny. I wonder why they were called that? Does anyone know? I actually have some doilies in my linen closet that my grandmother crocheted (<---another funny word) years and years ago. No, I don't use them, but every once in a while I'll pull them out and admire the work that my grandmother put into them.

The old fashioned name is antimacassers. Sometimes they turn up on e-bay in Antiques or Linens.

Check the second hand and Thrift stores. Salvation Army and Goodwill often have them here.
