Seems like I remember something about Vinegar and Bay leaves......

Anyway does Anyone have a remedy other than a fly swatter, or something that does the same as one???

Looking for something that doesn't require pesticides.....

Thank You....

You're going to think this is crazy but,it actually works. Ziploc bags half filled with water.Hang them with a nail or thumb tack near your doors. We had a cookout and had food on all the tables under our carport and everyone was amazed that they didn't have to fight the flies away.We had these bags hanging up around the carport. Amazing how great they worked. In fact, they are still hanging and still no sign of flies.

Diotomaceous earth will kill them by desication and is safe around pets and people---hardware stores carry it or pool supply stores. Sprinkle it on some raw meat and leave it out for a few days. It will dry out your hands real good so minimize contact and wash it off after handling.
Do a web search about it and read up on it before using.
Otherwise, fly strips with sticky stuff on them work good but a little unsightly---grandparents had a cow farm in Minnesota and plenty of flies.

I'm not sure, I know this isn't an answer to your question but who knows, it may just work on flies as well...I've recently discovered that good old Vick's vaporub is an excellent mosquito repellent. Where I live they don't send one or two out to bite you, they have family picnics. I hate using the regular repellents not knowing what they will do to me. So, about 1 month ago I tried it. I took some on my finger, made a line across my forehead, behind each ear, on my neck, and the places they call your pulse points, such as the inside of your wrists, elbows, temples...Anyway, it worked great. I've been using it ever since...Will it work on flies?...I don't know but it wouldn't hurt to try...--Good Luck!
