I stopped the cold water supply to fix my toilet. When I did, hot water came into the toilet ( I dont know WHY!) I turned the hot water off and fixed the toilet, then turned the water supplies back on.

The next time I turned on the hot water for the shower some orange dirty water came out (like dirt residue). Ever since, I have a very very low amount of hot water in the shower. I do not mean the hot lasts for a short time, I mean the volume of water is very low. Any help please?

I have a medium/large yard with a fairly short fence. I want a greater sense of privacy in my yard. I think I would rather opt for a natural barrier than replacing all of my current fence. I am willing and able to care for whatever I plant, but would appreciate any tips about good trees or shrubs for the job.

I am purchasing a house built in 1915. It has an unfinished basement, an unfinished attic, and no central air or ducts. I plan on having central air installed and was wondering if the fact that my basement and attic is unfinished would make it easier to install central air/ducts?

I have to wash bedding for up to 8 beds weekly, and towels for 8 as well. I would like one of the new large capacity sets, but would love some insight from current owners. Thank you so much for your help.

I've often loved the idea of just quitting everything and buying a little piece of land (say 5-10 acres) with a house and maybe and outbuilding or two - and trying to make a modest income from that - but have no idea what small farms do to make money. That's certainly not enough land to say have a dairy farm - or (I'd think) to grow enough of a crop to make much of a profit. I've thought of maybe a small greenhouse type thing - but have no idea who you would sell your product to. Does anyone know anything about this - or have any websites or books to suggest? Thanks very much!

I have a ice maker in my fridge, but once I have enough ice I turn it off, sometimes for several weeks. After I turn it on agian, the inside of the ice is sorta yellowish and the ice smells like onions. Why is it like this?
The water in my area is very soft so there are very little dissolved minerals in it. Plus my fridge auto defrosts it self so there is no ice on the wall, and my fridge is very clean.

If I shouldn't be putting any water on my hardwood floor - is it really safe to be using the "Floor to Floor" cleaner that Hoover provides since it requires I 'add water' to the solution??

I know the tank is full, just replaced it. I dont think the gas is coming out at all. I have tried the to vent it in case the flow regulator was tripped. I have sprayed the entire system with soapy water and have not found a leak. I did clean the grill before it was packed up when we moved. I dont know if this will have anything to do with it though.

I bought some bed sheets for a deep mattress I have but they don't fit because i forgot to factor in the featherbed i have over my pillowtop, I cannot exchange them for the next bed size up because I have a king already. The company does not do returns for this reason, and the whole bedset was $3000...is there anyone who knows about sewing who could tell me if it is possible to take these to someone and have a few inches of fabric added to the bottom so these fit over my mattress correctly? They are made of Modal and Silk....is this possible to have done or will there be too much stress on the seams?

Our AC condenser unit was stolen from the side of our house recently. Police suggested it was stolen for the copper inside. However, the unit would easily be worth $1,000 itself. How much copper is inside to make it worth gutting rather than
reselling the unit itself outright in regular condition?
