Okay...so, in my living room I have beige furniture and beige walls. Please do not say...beige!

I think a dark carpet like a hunter green or maroon. Then with the drapes, get a pattern with both colors (beige & maroon or hunter green). Or use Navy blue. I would then use white trim and white blinds to brighten it back up a little. Good luck!

It sounds scary but rooms with dark chocolate walls, a solid but bold carpet color (like a dark sage green), and beige furniture can be quite stunning. You can accent with drapes (burnt orange, rusty red, or some other contrasting solid or subtly patterned color).

1] get a rug you like in a deep or midtone [ ruby, gold, sapphire, emerald, rust, or amethyst, or a mix of colors ]
2] Get drapes in a print - flowers, paisley, stripes, etc. - with the rug color[s] and a little beige.
3] add pillows, lamps, vase, candles, and pictures with each of the main colors.
