Probably nothing, but suposedly that can cause too much pressure in the crank case and cause the crankcase to crack. If you can, try to get some out.

I did this too. I ended up taking the lawnmower to a repair store. If you just put in a little too much oil, it will eventually burn off. What should you do? Tell your parents. And if you think your lawnmower needs oil, have an adult check it. I'm sure you're mature enough to check an oil level, but let an adult be responsible if this happens again!

Most lawn mowers have a drain on the bottom where you can drain some of the oil out. Look and see if you see a plug with a square top or a square hole. If it is a hole it is probably 3/8 inch and the square drive of 3/8 socket drive will fit it. If it is a square top use the open end of a combination wrench that fits it probably 3/8. It will probably be tight so be careful not to scrape your knuckles. Also watch out for the blade which might be sharp.

Better yet tell your mom or dad and let them have the mower fixed.

First remove the spark plug wire. Tip the mower air filter up and look under it. You should see a plug. Either a square plug or a plug with a square hole. Remove the plug and drain some of the oil out. Check the oil level and make sure it is at the full mark on the dipstick. Remove the air cleaner filter and check it for oil. If it is paper and has oil on it replace it. Replace the sparkplug wire and start it up. It may smoke a bit but will clear up.

first is it a 2 stroke? did you mix it with the gas or is there a seperate oill container. If it's a 2 stroke it will run like crap if at all and if you add it seperately you will most likely have oil bursting out of every gasket it comes in contact with. My advise if it's not too late already is to dump it out and fill it to the proper level

Do not run the engine if white smoke is coming out - trust me! I ruined two perfectly good lawn mower engines because I filled them up with too much oil. Let the engine cool down, dump the excess oil out (somehow), and only refill the oil up to the level that the dipstick says. If you continue to run the engine with white smoke, it will eventually grind to a halt and need complete servicing! Good luck!

another way to drain the oil if you can't find a drain plug is to take to dip stick out and flip the mower over on its side. It will run out. Then refill to proper level. This all depends on what type of engine is mounted.
