If I shouldn't be putting any water on my hardwood floor - is it really safe to be using the "Floor to Floor" cleaner that Hoover provides since it requires I 'add water' to the solution??

No, because it lays it down and picks it up so quickly.

Some people do not like the idea of an water on their hardwood floors; however, if the water does not stay on there for long, it usually does no harm if you really need to clean it. You do not want water sitting on the floor at anytime.
