Our dog has gone cujo on a few of our doors and window frames. One needs to be replaced completely but he others looks like they could just be repaired. Are there any goos or pastes that fill in wood scratches and bite marks well??

I would like one that will be durable, not be overly basic, has a fair amount of accessories/extras and also not one made for extreme experts.
I have been wanting to get a decent sewing machine for a while now, and my birthday is coming up so I am doing some research so I can know what is best for me to ask for.

I have had a couple sewing classes so I know the basics ( I would have to refresh myself with it but I am a quick learner). I am an interior design student and mainly I will be sewing home fabric type projects(pillows, curtains, bedding, possible embroidery) (as well as some clothing repairs I am sure) but this is for myself and not for projects for school.

It definitely can be over $100, but $425-$500 is probably the max price. Hopefully something less than that, but I want something that can be dependable and not need to be replaced soon and can be repaired easily if needed.

What do you think?

The furnace unit inside the house is older and needs replaced but we need just a few more months out of it. We have a problem where every year after a hot week (or a few days) the unit will freeze up. Normally I clean the coils and let it thaw and it works again. The problem is this time the blower will not power up. I am able to get the compressor up and running outside but it has been about 5 hours and still the fan will not power up. I would like to check the relay and capacitor but have a few questions first. The capacitor is removable and I have a DMM (digital multimeter) to test it. Question is: Is this the same as any capacitor I would test in an electronics circuit just larger? Also the relay.... How is that tested? Thank you for all of your help

i topped off the oil, took out the spark plug and cranked the engine a few times. ok. i put the spark plug back in and cranked it - no ignition. when the engine is cranking fast, i can hear excessive vibration. i know this is not good.
but at least the engine is not seized...

We've all heard the expression, he/she wouldn't hurt a fly - but, who else is like me and can't stand them? I've recently found instead of trying to swat them with my fly swatter - I use my dyson to get rid of them! It works a treat. What other methods can you recommend?

I was wondering if there are air coditioners made that can independently be placed inside an apartment (i.e. without mounting in the window or through wall). I know that usually heat is produced and that's why part of air conditioners are put outside, but our rented apartment doesn't allow for this.
Thank you for your help.

A home inspection stated the tankless hot water Weil-McLain boiler was 'fully depreciated.' The inspector could not write in the report (due to possible liablity) that it was 'on its last legs' but said so verbally. It was visibly old and possibly original to the '72 home. What are my chances in having the sellers replace it or have them lower their asking price, if it was just running at 210 degrees rather than 180, making the hot water baseboards run hot (ave. 150 degrees) but still in working oder? I don't want it repaired or serviced, but given allowance to do so myself. Is that unreasonable?

i recently moved into a new apartment and in the backyard, there is a lattice with many vines on it. i thought nothing of this, but i just noticed there are little berries that look like grape all over the vines. i took one and cut it open and it looks like it could be the beginning of a grape, but im not sure, it is quite small and green. could this be a grape or any other suggestions what this vine could be?

I'm 14 years old and it's going to be farm and country themed. At first I wanted to paint it River Valley which is like a gray(grey(not sure which way it's spelled) but with a tint of blue. But now I'm having second thought on that color. I'm not going for anything outrageous like barn red, but any suggestions of colors or good ideas I can do to go along with my room( like farm, barn, country, farm animal) it would be appreciated!! Thanx!

I am growing herbs in containers on my patio this summer for the first time ever. They are doing very well, which is great, but I'm not sure what to do as far as harvesting & storing them goes. Someone told me you shouldn't pick them except for immediate use in cooking until the end of the summer, but if I wait that long to harvest, they may take over my patio! I am using what I can for cooking, but that barely makes a dent in them. Please enlighten me as to when I can harvest, how to do it, ways to preserve, etc. Specifically, I have sweet basil, Italian oregano, garlic chives, rosemary, sage, marjoram, mint, and spearmint. Thanks!

Every night I have to put my bedsheets back on because they come up. I make sure that they go all the way past the corners of the mattress and the sheets are the right size. I don't know if I just move a lot or what, but every night without fail, they are popped off the corners.
