Well how about like half the room (like from the floor to half up the wall), paint it like straw grass like in a field and maybe a tractor plowing crops. Have like a red barn next to a farmhouse and a windmill. Have horses like running free. Flowers are good too. Maybe somewhere on the wall have like a river flowing or a pond with kids jumping in (trees covering around the pond). The other half (halfway towards the celing) paint it like a pretty blue sky with just some white clouds. Or maybe have a sunset along the river (or pond), with orange over the water and like a dark blue while stars are just starting to shine as the sun sets.

ok.. i did my bathrm in a library blue which has some grey tint in it.. closer to demin... & yellow... like the sunflowers.
I painted the bttm. 1/2 the blue... hand painted sunflowers as a border & checked the top part w/ off white bkgrd. U use a 2 or 3" roller to make u'r lines down then across. It takes time but it's def. country when u'r done.
If u don't want to add the yellow u could add touches of the red or green...
I also painted the door & baseboard to look like rustic wood. if that gives u any help, i would b glad to help. Jst e me.
Get ur' friends to help if u decide to the do the big plaid & it will b fun & go faster.
Be creative & have FUN!

By the way, both gray and grey are right. But grey is more commonly used in England.
Since you want a farm theme, you might want greens along with the color you just described. You might even want to use a sandy brown for some of your painting, especially if you're painting a mural.
Good luck!
