Funny you mention it but for the past 2 days, there has been hundreds just in my kitchen and before anyone comments, it's not some minging filth hole, it's really clean so I have been swatting them. Today I bought some Raid and launched an attack to take back my kitchen and it was wonderful watching them just drop out of the air and DIE!
I then cleaned them off the floor, opened the windows for 10 minutes and cleaned the surfaces, problem sorted. The smell lingered for a while but it was pleasant and not the sort that made you ill.

Flies are annoying dirty little creatures and we seem to have an over abundance of them right now. I've had to put citronella collars on my dogs just to give them relief when they go outside. However, every time one of the buggers start to annoy you, just remember that without them we would be in trouble. Flies eat our waste and recycle it into the earth. With out them we'd be overrun with all things bad. Not to mention that their offspring is as important as well. Maggots not only consume all the road kill, but they are used medicinally to treat wounds that won't heal. They eat away at the dead flesh so that new flesh can grow. I don't mean to gross you all out, but flies are more of a friend to us than an enemy.

I buy on line a tiny beneficial wasp that parasites the fly larva and that cut down the population around my barn to almost zero.
Try this e-mail I.P.M. labs@bald.com for fly predators.
Well if I got the e-mail wrong, just type in I.P.M.labs, Locke New York.

I was using my dustbuster today on the window sill and one came by. I sucked him up and thought it was hilarious. I went in the living room and told my hubby. He just kinda stared at me. Well, I thought it was funny. I hate those things.
