This is dependent upon allot of things, as in how long you cook, do you use it on high, med, low? all factors in amount of gas used per hour of use. In other words with all the variable possible there is no actual time for how long

A normal grill tank holds 2 1/2 gallons of propane. 1 gallon of propane is going to produce 91,000 btu of energy. So a tank should hold 227,500btu of energy. So divide the BTU rating of your grill into this and it should give you the hours of use available.Hope this helps out.

get one of those stick on gas levels, depends on how often you cook, how high the flame is, burners etc.. 4.5 gallons ( since they rip us off .5 gallons now with the stupid level inside the new tanks ) should last you a couple months,, of course you can weigh the tank as you go along too, liquids are basically about 7 pounds per gallon
