I have a souvenir pocket knife, but I want to dull the blade, so it can't be dangerous. I don't have any interest in it ever being used as a knife. Any suggestions on how to do that? Would removing the blade and just keeping the commemorative casing be possible? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Even on small loads it wobbles violently and "walks" on spin cycle, even after redistributing the load. I'm fairly mechanical and I visually checked everything. Installed new belt. Springs seem okay. The motor seems to slide on a plate so that belt tension varies. What other parts determine/affect the balanced movement of the drum? What am I not seeing?

I have an antique sewing machine. It is not the a typical machine. I have asked this question before and everyone seems to think that it is an average treadle machine.
This one is made by Singer. It stands approx 4 1/2 feet tall. It is not in a table. It was made in 1896 and is an industrial machine, Model 7. It weights an easy 300lbs.
I am looking for any information that I can possibly find.
I have already tried to google it and have contacted Singer. I am trying to find someone who may also know about this rare machine.
I would like to know what its value might be and if there is a manual for this machine. It even has what is believed to be the original belt. It looks as if it was made for sewing leather. Singer does not have this info. All that they could tell me is the date that it was made and the model number.
Please help.

I developed these marks on the bottom of my tub about a year after I moved it. I've tried everything to get them off- Comet, scrub brush, bleach, all kinds of bathroom and soap scum cleaners, home remedies, everything! The marks seem to be dark (like soap scum) where the circles of the bottom of the tub are. I don't know if the person who lived here before me had a tub mat or not but they look kind of like rings from a mat. I live alone and am a younger woman and don't get extremely dirty to dirty up the tub and I've never had this problem anywhere else I've live. (Pls. see picture that attached to my profile, I know it;s kind of small, sorry!).

Someone tried to break into our home and broke the glass on our leaded glass entry door. This is a mahogany door with a large oval glass window. The entire door with frame was over 2 grand and I don't want to replace it if I don't have to. Do you know if just the glass part can be replaced, who do I ask (door repair? glass shop?) and how much it would cost? Thanks!

At the end of May my friend was going to host a house warming party for me. She had no ideas for any games, I had only one Idea. We could get many keys and as people come we could pass them out on strings so they could wear them around there neck. If a person says house then they get to take the other persons key almost to the end of the party every one will have a chance to place the key in my door. If it fits then they get the prize of a 25 dollar gift card to walmart, but first they got to give up the key to get the gift. Any other game ideas? The party will mainly be out side since every one that I know have at least 2 or more children. -o- and do you know where I can find a bunch of keys for a cheap price? Thanks, if you can help!

We just built a new house with berber carpet carpet in the master bedroom dowstairs and all the other bedrooms upstairs. Our six year old daughter's room is directly above ours. The amount of noise that we hear just from her walking around is horrible. It sounds like she is a 300 lb. giant in a rage and all she is doing is walking and playing. It's impossible to take a nap or relax if she is in her room and we are in ours. It's driving us crazy. Our builder is very sound and reputable and we don't feel like it's a lack of quality. Does berber carpet have less padding than regular carpet or does it allow a lot more motion and sound to travel through it? Does anyone have a solution to this? (we can't put her in another bedroom)

When I go to grandma's house I notice she always has a cup of clothes detergent by the sink. She always uses it to wash dishes and I think bleach sometimes too. I always assume she just was out of dish washing liquid. So does it work better or what?

I've seen that it is best to divide perennials in early spring or fall but I was wondering if it was too late (May 1st) now that we're nearing summer temperatures.

If one is selling new with tags clothing, is the pricing different from used clothing in excellent condition?

How does one price expensive items - track lighting that was $2K new or a lighting fixture that was $400 new?

Hardcover books always $2? No matter how expensive originally?

Children's toys and games? Used but in excellent condition sheet sets for twin beds?

We need to raise as much money as possible, but don't want to lose a single sale through overpricing.

I'd appreciate any tips for maximizing our return on our yard sale, which will be in our driveway as part of a neighborhood wide yard sale. Our goal is to raise money for our dog's $500/mo drug habit. (Congestive heart failure and endocarditis)

Thanks for your time and ideas.

ok so i decided on painting strips on the either the lower part or top part of the walls in our b/g nursery .. i will do variant sizes the larges stipes being green and yellow and small ones here and there in pink and blue to tie in their bedding etc.. my original idea... was the other half of the wall to paint in solid green (same as green in stripe) now im thinking what if the nursery her side is on i paint pink and his side blue and the other walls either green or one green and yellow.. my questions is .. is that to busy.. should i just keep all the portions solid green? and maybe curtains in yellow etc.. and then the pink n blue decorations.. and is it good to do the bottom half in stripes? and the top portion solid or should it be the other way around? TIA
