Even on small loads it wobbles violently and "walks" on spin cycle, even after redistributing the load. I'm fairly mechanical and I visually checked everything. Installed new belt. Springs seem okay. The motor seems to slide on a plate so that belt tension varies. What other parts determine/affect the balanced movement of the drum? What am I not seeing?

Check the bottom of the machine. On each corner of the machine, there are adjustable feet, adjust them so the machine doesn't wobble. Hopefully that will work....

Check the levelers on the bottom, there should be level feet, these screw and unscrew to level the machine. Other then this there could be something amiss with the agitator, it could be off balance or the weights under the machine could have come loose and unbalanced the machine.

You need to measure each corner of your machine from the floor to make sure each leveler in set at the same height. If this is done right, then check your tub to make sure the tub is not loose inside.

See if it is balanced. If the ajustable foot thing doesn't work stick something under it. Like a piece of wood or a block or something.
