I have an antique sewing machine. It is not the a typical machine. I have asked this question before and everyone seems to think that it is an average treadle machine.
This one is made by Singer. It stands approx 4 1/2 feet tall. It is not in a table. It was made in 1896 and is an industrial machine, Model 7. It weights an easy 300lbs.
I am looking for any information that I can possibly find.
I have already tried to google it and have contacted Singer. I am trying to find someone who may also know about this rare machine.
I would like to know what its value might be and if there is a manual for this machine. It even has what is believed to be the original belt. It looks as if it was made for sewing leather. Singer does not have this info. All that they could tell me is the date that it was made and the model number.
Please help.

Is it A flat table type machine or open arm only. If it is a long open arm its called a patcher. They are still used in the shoe repair business. I have 3 I am not familiar with a model 7. As far as singer I dont think they are still in business any more. That business has changed hands many times. As far as price I would not know. A modern open arm patcher sells for around 1200.00 new. Check search engines for it, the ones I have are 29 k72 and 29k73 the model number is stamped on the back side of the machine just above the stand it is bolted on. They made many29k71, 29k72 and 29k73 since the 1940S or earlier. Check A sewing machine center they may be able to help you

You'll have to check with an antique store with this one. It's only value is to someone that wants it. Surprising, a White or Singer in excellent shape will sell for only a small amount, there are so many out there, it holds the price down. I've seen some like new, that they can't give away and it's a shame. I'm not familiar with this model though so, it may be worth something to someone, check with E-Bay.
