I'm in need of advice on what's the best doorknob and cheap as well. I need to replace the doorknob on my door and I am wondering which doorknob is the best to buy at home depot or wal-mart.

Hi. Normally I just mix white and colored when I do my laundry and it goes fine. But yesterday I was using a new washing machine and the white clothes came out pink.

Is there anyway to restore the color of these clothes back to white?

I won't have a new air conditioner for 2 weeks. It's 80 degrees in my apartment. I can't sleep, i feel sick, i have 2 cats that I can't just leave. What should I do? I have a box fan I have just sitting on the living room floor and I have a stand up fan that I have blowing directly on my bed. Yet I am still very uncomfortable. Isn't there something I can do with a box fan? Put it in the window or something? Which way should it face and etc?

On one episode, Kim told the person they must put a mask on before she put salt, baking soda, and vinegar down the drain. The episode I just watched had her doing the same, without a mask, standing right over the sink and not making any mention of fumes.

I had never heard of adding salt to this mix, but I am confused as to why she had concern of fumes on one show and not the other. Any thoughts?

I had purchased a few new bare root rose bushes but they have broken their dormancy and are growing like crazy. They were sold with their roots packed in a 12" X 4" plastic bag. I live in zone 6 and I think it's still too early to plant them outside especially since they are growing. Right now I am keeping them in my basement. Do you think that they will be ok left like this until planting time in at least another month or more? Or would it be best to plant them in pots and let them grow all that they want until planting time? And can bare root roses be planted in a pot without causing any unnecessary harm to the plant? Thanks for all the help!!! :)

the dishwasher is the worst. it literally knocked my daughter down. we live in an old mobile home out inthe country in south carolina. i work as a word processor in town. so we cannot afford an electrician. my husband is mentally handicapped and cannot fix anything. he just breaks things. he may bethe cause himself. i dont know. but what wires could i change to make it stop. should i move some wires in that breaker box? or maybe it is at the pole itself. if you are barefoot it really jars you.

I got a second hand lamp and it didn't work even when I changed the bulb. Then I tried changing the fuse in the plug, but the fuses I have had at home for years may be old ones, in fact they may be dud!. Is there any way of testing them to see if they still work? Every time this happens I buy new ones but the ones that are left over go in the box with the others and I don't know which work and which don't! Yes I know the system I have is useless, but if I could just test them all!?!

My house is very old.
Whenever it is raining, all the water runs into the basement.
we are currently using bumps to bring the water out.
we have to do this because we don't want the water ruining the gas/heater in the basement. we are tired of doing this. The walls arehave molds already.
We want to drain the water.
What are some ofthe causes?
What are some suggestions? Thanks!!

I am wanting to transplant a deciduous hedge from my familys home to mine. I have read alot of articles saying I shouldn't transplant now (end of march) in zone 5. The hedge has buds on it, but no leaves yet. What is the best way to prepare the ground in order to get good results?Or do I have no chance? I hear to much composte or watering can kill it.

The grass in the frontyard of my Phoenix house is all dead. I am planning to replace the grass with gravels/rocks. I wonder if I should lay 1 inch of rocks with fabric underneath or 2 inches of rocks without fabric? Any other better recommend option if I like to be able to have a few plants with minimal maintenance?

Should I use river rocks or gravels (or maybe they are the same)?

I assume the procedure is 1) remove dead grass 2) lay the fabric 3) place gravels evenly.

Anything I may have missed?

There is a tulip garden where I am living that belonged to my grandmother.
it's been there ever since I was little.
see no one has taken care of the flowers in awhile, but today i did.
I was taking all the weeds out and it looked like the roots to the tulips were coming above ground too.
is this normal?
is there a way to fix this or should i just leave it be?
also the tulips have seemed to stray out of the garden, they are growing on the outside of the border we put them in
should i just make the border bigger or can i transplant them somewhere else?
can you help these flowers have been around a long time i would hate to see them die.
thanks in advance
:)
