I'm in need of advice on what's the best doorknob and cheap as well. I need to replace the doorknob on my door and I am wondering which doorknob is the best to buy at home depot or wal-mart.

For a really secure lock you need a dead bolt. Any door knob lock can be quickly defeated. Walmart doesn't carry any lock sets that are of any decent quality. From Home Depot, Schlagge lock sets are OK, Brinks are a little better, both are reasonably priced.

ata a minimun schlage... kwickset & other like it have become garbage

any & all will fail with a good strong kick, you need 3 1/2" screws & use those heavy metal supports that go behind the striker plates, put the sam screws into your hinges.... heave hasps on the back of the door will also do, but they're ugly

For price and safety, I prefer to buy Brinks.
