On one episode, Kim told the person they must put a mask on before she put salt, baking soda, and vinegar down the drain. The episode I just watched had her doing the same, without a mask, standing right over the sink and not making any mention of fumes.

I had never heard of adding salt to this mix, but I am confused as to why she had concern of fumes on one show and not the other. Any thoughts?

Different writers. Unless you have known respiratory problems like asthma or copd, not to worry. Salt is corrosive which is why it is added. have a great day everyday.

That doesn't seem to make sense, because isn't the whole benefit of the bicarb and vinegar that it only releases harmless oxygen? Unless it was a filthy drain and it was possible other toxins would be released in the first drain...maybe.
