I saw my neighbors last year use this method: I'm looking for a good website on it. Please.
They put some black plastic over their soil. Then after a couple weeks they cut holes in the plastic and planted their yard plants. The plants within a month had grown beautifully and practically covered all the black plastic. Any websites on this method would be fantastic. Thank You!!

I have only owned the home since November, 4 months..everytime it rains, I have water standing in my basement. Isn't it against the law to sell a home without the truth about basement flooding?

Is it mandatory that all utilities (gas, water, and lights) be turned on for a Detroit city house inspection? Can the inspection still be performed. I'm going to have a private inspection and the utilities will be on.

My pressure tank has a small drip coming from somewhere. We are forced to replace floors, carpeting and find the problem. My main concern is actually not as top where the leak is, but that we have been told that if we remove the pressure tank to replace the floor, it will require a new tank because it is nearly impossible to regain pressure on the old one. Any suggestions?

I originally thought I could just tile over it. Some people have recommended I don't. Removing the old tiles seems like a pain. It’s an old house and they appear to be set in mortar that's about 3 inches thick at least. I had a devil of a time with the walls. They were set in mortar as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

We just moved into a house and the light in the dining room does not work. The light and switch are new. All of the wires have power with the tester, but once the light is connected, it no longer works. We have tried a couple of lights (one of them worked just an hour before). Any ideas??
