I recently moved into a home with a very botanical yard. I am trying to landscape and clean up. I have no knowledge about any of the plants( and scared to get rid of something great). Any ideas on how to find what I have?

Take pictures of the plants and go to the local nursery. You could also take pictures and put them on the internet.

examine the leaves or flowers of those plants and then look over some plants on seed websites , it usually works out well with looking for the leaves.
or you can wait a while and see if any fruit or vegetable comes from the plant.
or the other option is smell the leaves, sometimes smelling the leaves can tell you what you have , lemon , lime , orange , and tangerine trees all have a citrus scent on their leaves . vegetable plants usually have a very watery scent and its light so that one may be a bit harder to tell , and with herb plants usually the leaves are very pungent and the scent sticks to your hands.

You can go to hgtv.com. They have all the gardening shows there, & pics of virtually every plant you can think of.
