Ny Sears Craftsman garage door opener won't work with the remote and the little light on the button inside on the garage blinks all the time. Any insight how to fix?

Why is my air condition fan still blowing through the vents when my unit outside is off and my thermostat on the wall is saying off?

I am installing 2 1/2" wide red oak floor over a old maple tongue and groove floor some part are very irrigular. Do I need to use 1/8 underlayment (plywood type) or can I use the roll type of underlayment? Also do I need to screw down all the old floor first? I am putting hardwood flooring in the bathroom too, what is the recommended underlayment for that?

I seem to have these little (really little) bugs flying around. I thought they were gnats but now I am not sure. They are about the size of a pin top. I believe they are in & around the houseplants.
Any ideas what they are & how to get rid of them?

When I moved into the house the living room smelt like something dead! I had the carpet cleaned and after a couple of days the smell went but if the kids spill any drinks etc (they're not allowed drinks in there anyway but sneak them in when I'm upstairs or the kitchen) the awful smell comes back. What can the smell be and what can I do about it - I can't afford a new carpet.

I installed 4 new wall outlets & one switch in a room. All the outlets work except one and the power in the bathroom on the other side of the wall from the one outlet that doesn't work is also out. I have tried using two different outlets and reordering the wiring, but I can't get the outlet to work, or get the power back to the bathroom.

was wondering if acetone or nail polish remover would dissolve the putty without taking paint off walls and ceiling.

A large root from a tall pine tree is protruding through my driveway. I'd like to chop the root out but my wife thinks it will kill the tree. My opinion is that the tree must have several more roots just as large and it won't miss one. Who's right?

I'm talking the metal-bladed kind. Can you lose a limb, finger or head? Or just get badly cut.

I seem to have these pesty things all over the house. I believe they came because I over watered my plants. I read an answer you gave about using dishsoap & warm water. I have questions as I would prefer not to kill my plants any more than I have already:)

Should I wait for them to dry out before doing this? How much of this mixture do I use? AS you can tell I am not very plant savy. Most of the plants I have were given to me when my MIL passed in January. I thought I did rather well keeping them alive this long:) Some are in pots-which I can water & drain in a sink, other are in bowls with no drainage.

Sure hope you can help me. I am getting very tired of these pesty little guys.

Thanks:)

I have a baxi bermuda running the system (very old system), the trouble is the house (3 bed semi) has been extended downwstairs making a very large living room and a utility room and had a porch added that opens direct to the hallway from outside. Upstairs is fine but downstairs only has two radiators and seems to take ages to warm up (open plan) the thermostat is in the hallway which is the last to warm up so the rads upstairs are still putting out a lot of heat when it the correct temp upstairs, until the downstairs warms up.
Should I
A- add radiators in living room and utility room.(will system cope)
B- use controls on upstairs rads to turn them down or will heat just rise from downstairs.
C- complete new system £££s
