I was given a HUGE wandering jew plant, it's vines are almost 6 feet long, It's a beautiful plant except for the top half of the plant...the first 2 feet or so of the vines have all lost their leaves and are starting to die out, while the bottom half of the vines are GEORGEOUS!!. I would like to take cuttings and restart the plant, what's the best way to do this? Just cut some stems off and place in water or does this plant require special treatment??

Thanks

I recently bought my daughter a pair of sneakers. After about a week or two, this distict smell started coming from it. It's hard to describe the smell to it but it's almost like the smell of strong wet weeds or as if a cat may have sprayed on it. The smell tends to linger in the house or where ever you go. I've tried washing it in the laundry, twice. I tried spraying it with carpet cleaner. I've tried soaking them in vinegar. Any ideas before I toss them?? Thanks.

I have an infestation of roaches in my kitchen which must be comming from my next door neighbor who recently moved out. Being that I have had my condo for 4 years without a single ant or roach problem, how do I get rid of them?

I pose this question to mothers because you know how important a vacuum can be when you have toddlers and children. I'm trying to find the best vacuum... and I don't care about cost. My house has marble & granite floors, ceramic tile, and wood floors... with area rugs throughout. I've been forever looking for the best vacuum for all my needs. One that has good suction, has easy onboard tools that actually meet all needs, has a long enough hose that when being used, doesn't tip the vacuum over. I don't care if it's with bag or bagless.
I have owned a kirby, a red devil, a Euro-Pro (love it but isn't versatile enough), and currently wasted money on the Eureka Ultima (because it had the dusting wand... what a waste). I would like the advice of people who've had their vacuums for some time... not just bought it recently... since they all seem to be fine right out of the box. I've heard Dyson is good... but I've also read reviews that said it sucked. Only experience can tell.

It's chilly and my fan-heater has broken, so I went to buy a new one. All the shopkeepers shook their heads and said that they don't sell fan-heaters in the summer. They do, however, sell greenhouse heaters.

I have a bamboo tree that is starting to turn yellow with some black spotting. I have been changing the water regularly and keeping it out of direct sunlight. Is this normal, or what can I do to keep my plant healthy?
