I recently bought my daughter a pair of sneakers. After about a week or two, this distict smell started coming from it. It's hard to describe the smell to it but it's almost like the smell of strong wet weeds or as if a cat may have sprayed on it. The smell tends to linger in the house or where ever you go. I've tried washing it in the laundry, twice. I tried spraying it with carpet cleaner. I've tried soaking them in vinegar. Any ideas before I toss them?? Thanks.

Try sprinkling baking soda all over the insides and leaving it overnight. If that does not work, get some non-clumping kitty litter - fill the shoes with it and then pour it all around the shoes and leave them for a few days - it's great for getting rid of odors. (Be sure not to leave the litter-filled sneakers anywhere a cat can find them!)

Good luck!

probably sweaty feet. Mine smell like dried fish sometime. you could purchase new shoes Or placed them close a heating vent and allow the heat dry the smell. or you'll purchase a foot spray at drug retail shops. There round 5$. They do help a lot. there is also a foot lotion in drug retail shops you'll use formerly than putting on socks. that would ought to evade exsessive sweat.

Put some kitty litter in a sock and let them sit at night every night. Or you could try a dryer sheet. Washing them helps, too.

Sprinkle with baking soda, let sit overnight, spray with febreeze, if they have removable insoles try replacing the insoles. Also try a good spraying down with febreeze.
