Look under the sink. At the back side of the drain pipe from the sink there will be a short (6") rod that sticks out. Also there will be a vertical rod with a flat plate with holes hanging down from the lever. One of the holes from the flat plate should slide over the rod from the back of the drain pipe. On the floor under the sink you should find a "V"-shaped piece of springy steel with a hole at each end. Slide one hole into the rod from the drain, insert flat plate hole then the other hole from the V-shaped spring.

There is a fastener back there on the pole that operates the lever thing. Just refasten it, or do like me and move it with your hand.

Usually there is a little fastener on there. If its not that theirs a little screw you tighten that holds it in place. If its completely broke go to your local plumbing warehouse and ask for a new drain stopper.
