Simple and elegant should impress your future sister-in-law. You can purchase plain white cards with matching envelopes at the craft store to save a little time. Print the appropriate information on the inside in an elegant font in black using the computer. Now the fun part starts. Try to find a Fiskars embossing border punch at the craft store or a scrapbooking store. They come in several designs but a heart or lace border would be in keeping with the theme. Punch/emboss the lower front edge of the card for a fancy look. Practice on some plain paper or card stock a few times so you get the hang of placement before you do the actual cards. Cut a piece of gold or silver paper into a rectangle about 1" smaller than the front of the card all around and adhere to the front of the card. On top of this, adhere a smaller piece of white cardstock on which you have rubber stamped a design in gold or silver to match the metallic paper underneath. You can find a rubber stamp that says" You are invited or Its a Bridal Shower " or a simple design like a butterfly or a rose. Cut a piece of colored vellum or a lacy handmaid paper the same size as the card and fold in half. Place inside the card as a liner and so it will peek under the lacy front edge of the card. Adhere at the top inside back of the card. For an added flourish, tie some gold or silver threads around the fold of the card and leave some hanging down the side like a tassle. If you can find a small stamp that matches or coordinates with the one you used on the card...you can stamp the lower left hand corner of the envelope and maybe make some RSVP inserts. Good luck.

Ok,I am crafty and do alot of scrap booking so I do know that Michael's or any Craft store you will find idea's. I would go with something fun and classy.I have made purse post card's,teddy bear invitations for baby shower's, there are so many thing's you can do. How about a champagne glass. And at a low cost. They have stencil's with different shapes or objects, etc. That is a start, your idea of what you want to go with for a theme, and yes go with the color's or flower's that she is going to have.Yes and I agree look around on the Internet at different wedding invites there, you will also find saying's and things in there.,and rearrange the word's to make it your own. You' can have alot of fun doing them and everyone will love what ever you do cause they are handmade, everyone enjoys something homemade. Or use different pictures and design them to be an invitation. Good Luck!! :)

A craft store like Michael's or A.C. Moore would have lots of supplies, and the staff there could probably give you some pointers. Here's what I did for my sister's bridal shower last year, though: Hallmark sells invitations made to go through your computer printer. They give you templates so you can set up the printer, and you can choose the font and color. The ones I got had a small fabric daisy that I could then stick on after they'd been printed. They looked wonderful! Or, you could get a less-fancy invitation, print it up and then get some little embellishments at the craft store to make them very personalized.
I think if you go to hallmark.com you could see what they have available.

I know what you mean. Invitations are stressful. Depending on how many you need, you will want to get nice paper for cheap. If you have a lot of time, fold cardstock yourself. Otherwise check online for cards that are prefolded (preferably with envelopes). Next, go to the craft stores. Find some embellishments (like a pretty yarn or ribbon. Get a simple stamp that can be used for each card (stars, moons, flowers, shapes) Use 2 different types and make one pattern to follow for all the cards. (ALSO at the craft stores, there are people there who will be able to help you coordinate and find what you need)

Well u came to the right person, I'm really creative.Cut the card into a card shape. No wazy lines, just straight ! Ok well maybe on the card you can have stickers that say love, passion, beuty, but not those kiddy ones where they're pink, green blue, NO ! Get the stickers that r cursive in black. The card can be Red, that'll look very nice. If u choose to have a red card, and black stickers, don't make it punk or gothic, it'll be too kiddy. On the invite you can write about like this "I would like to invite you to (insert your future sister law's name)'s Bridal Shower. And all that stuff. Be sure to write it in the best cursive ever and in a black pen. Good luck, and have fun.

First, you want to but some card stock and some fancy edged scissors. Cut the card stock in half with regular or fancy scissors. Fold card stock into card "shape". From there choose your scissors according to htepattern you want around the edges. You can do all of the egdes or just the top a bottom or whatever, be creative. Next, you can get all kinds of stamps from your local craft store. Find one or more that has to with bridal showers. You can dress up your card with little white bows in the corner or little flowers around the egdes or whatever fits your theme and colors. You should also be able to find all of these things at a craft store.

You can get software that will help you create personalized invites, but I would suggest going to a specialty store dealing with Scapbooking. They seem to be popping up everywhere these days. You can also find plenty of good "raw" material at general craft stores like Hobby Lobby, as well. You can make your invitations as ornate as time ( or helping hands) allow. It also gives you the option of personalizing each separate invitation for everyone. It's a great way to start off the party instead of a "cookie cutter" invitation. A suggestion: If you have pictures on your PC of the person you are throwing the party for, you can print them up on your own paper or order digital prints for higher quality on-line from a store like Walgreen's. It doesn't have to be the same picture for each invite. Different pictures on each or a small selection of different shot to offer variation to some can personalize the invitation, especially if that picture holds a personal significance to the person receiving it( maybe it has them with the person or an event they shared). You can get plenty of creative ideas from helpful clerks if they aren't swamped with customers or on-line craft websites. Good luck!

I am creative, but I am not crafty. However, I made cards for my bridesmaids to ask them to be in my wedding out of linen paper, cut out a free hand dress out of real material (cotton) and glued it on the front. For an invitation, you could probably do that on one side and then write the information (time, date etc) on the other side, like a postcard. Good luck.

Details, honey, it's in the details. Hand made paper in her wedding colors(get from her). got a blender, a dish pan, a bathtub, and a few screens( i use the ones on my storm windows in the bathrooms cause they are small ,they are not metal and clean before using), with me so far??? OK, on to shopping, craft store for paper/ heavy weight(something that FEELS thick/fluffy like for water colors) and then get thread and confetti that is the right color and wedding-ish(foil bells, plastic and tiny shapes in colors, not paper! Pen you can write with in color and friend with best hand writing. still with me. OK blend 2/3 water and ripped up paper, think lumpy oatmeal( do white, cheap and classy) . dump in dish pan. repeat a few times till you got 1/2 full. cut the thread in to tiny odd lengths and use a lot more than you think(but not more than 1 inch long) and the plastic and foil confetti and mix(pretty but lumpy oatmeal) then work screen under paper mix and get 1/3 inch of fluffy not smashed paper mixture. lift out slowly and gently shake back and forth to even, re-dip if odd looking. place on tub to dry. use a fan to make happen faster. flip over to get out and fold back and forth for that hand made rough edge, keep folding, not creasing, no ripping, and message, and fold to fit long envelopes, good luck.
