the seed pods???eventually turn brown and drop off but its now near sept and i still have a ton... is this normal for them to last all summer?? the rest of the tree seems thin now where in years past they had very few seeds and a ton of leaves... theyb have been treated for the ash borer for 5 years and i thoiught were doing well.. they used to be a nice looking tree but now are thin and ugly... is this the norm??? thanks anyone....

Stressed or dieing trees will produce bountiful seed crops when they are nearly 'goners'. Doesn't sound good. You could consult a registered arborist if you really want to save this tree or wish to get to the root of the problem--no pun intended.

I found that my ash has to be fertilized every 2 years to keep it looking health. A use a local arborist that does a deep root fertilization.

could be the effects of global warming, changing climate, many species of deciduous trees holding on to their leaves a lot longer

are you sure its a green ash, its souns like a magonila to me couse thats what you see on magonilas
