The Lawn-Boy model is from Home Depot (model 10685) and uses a Tecumseh engine. The Cub Cadet is from TSC (model 989) and uses a Honda engine.
I like that the Lawn Boy has "sens-a-speed", but I also like the Cub Cadet's front caster wheels.
We have a sloped lawn, so rear drive is a must.
Any thoughts on which to buy?

I bought a sliding compound miter saw to cut laminate flooring. I have experience with power tools, but not a miter saw. I've read the manual and will get used to operating it before plugging it in, but wondered if anyone has any useful tips regarding use of the saw (and laying easy-clic flooring). Thanks!

The container has a crack that is spreading. I do not want to move it until I know what I'm doing. What supplies do I need and how do I move the bamboo shoot without damaging the roots.

It's handblown glass, and it's just gotten to be too nasty to clean by hand at this point.

I was told you can mix the ceiling paint in with the popcorn texture and a little water, spray that over the whole ceiling, and thus avoid having to roll the ceiling later with ceiling paint. Seems to good to be true, just wondering if anyone has tried it.

There's a trail of brown spots in the carpet near my door. They weren't there when we moved in, but have no idea what they are, my best guess is that it's from a leaky trash bag.

I've tried Resolve, Borax, and some random carpet cleaning product from Sears along with a lot of scrubbing.

Do you keep the winter coats, hats etc from the previous winter? Or do you assume the kids will get bigger and buy new?

There was only one bee yesterday and I thought great, there's enough to go around. But today it looks like LAX for bees---there are loads of 'em coming and going and hanging in clumps from the dripper! Now, I'm no bee keeper and don't want to end up as a pin cusion, so first, how do I extracate my feeder (I know smoke sedates them or something but I don't know how much smoke I'd need...even if I had the stones to try that anyway). Second, will I ever be able to put the feeder back up (not sure how good bee memory is or if they take notes and make little bee maps when they get back to the hive) or are my hummers just S.O.L.?

Those of us w/o stingers thank you in advance for your help.

My bestfriend's cousin has been going through some health problems lately, and has been suffering serious depression. She has let her home go to the extreme extent, and I know it bothers her. She has tried to clean and organize many times, and it somehow piles up on her again.

She takes in stray cats, and has an indoor dog. The cats have made such a mess of her home. Some use the litter box and other go ALL over the floor, on the couch, kitchen counter, even the stove! :*( She loves the cats and will not get rid of them.

Her floor is so soiled, the beige carpet is now med-dark brown with filth. The cats walk on this, get it on there paws and walk all over the counters and leave nasty paw prints, everywhere. Her dog gets into the trash and spreads it all over. Her cats urinate and poo all over her place, on bags and boxes. She is in a rut, and can't seem to keep everything clean.

Any advice, how to you clean this extreme filth?
