My husband smokes cigarettes inside the house. Is there an air freshener or something that will rid of this odor?

The problem with indoor smoking, is that the tar adheres to EVERYTHING...like the carpet, drapes, towels, etc....Renuizt is GREAT for not only the air, but also the fabrics. However, the tar also gets in the air conditioner/heater, and there is NOTHING you can do about that. It also adheres to solid surfaces, as well as skin, lungs and hair. Lighting candles will help, but only to mask the odor.

Is there any possibility that your husband would consider smoking outdoors, or perhaps make a nice space for him in the garage, venting to the outdoors? It would be such a luxury for your lungs and your home.

you need one of the air puifiers,, you can by one from sears for about $24 its small but it will work..then you need something with an odor nuetalizer in it...not a spray that just covers it up.something in a can that you site one the table.im a smoker and i have tried everyting this seems to work the best for a house with 2 smokers..i also buy the cinnamon pine cones and put them in my vents make the house smell wonderfull, hot or cold air will work ..febreeze will work but you need something that will work all day long..the air puifier that i talked about will draw the smoke out of the air and clean it..you dont need a big exspensive one..

The best thing is Febreez. You can spray it right on furniture and carpet. But also lauder the curtains and bed linnens often. Also insist he only smoke in 1 or 2 rooms and use smokeless ashtrays and those snuffers for putting out cigarettes. That is the least he can do.

besides getting rid of the husband, use a steam cleaner on the fabric and carpet to get rid of the smell. Best bet is to pull all the carpet and install wood or ceramic, they don't hold odors.

air your house out daily, change air filters in airconditioner often, keep ashtrays empty and cleaned out.
I read on YA somewhere, where someone said set bowels of apple cider Vingar around your house....
Suggest he smoke in one room only with a window up and door closed. Or maybe go outside.

Ask him if he'll do it outside, and if he says no, open a window (or 2) that have screen doors. That way the smell gets out, and the bugs don't get in.
