It's handblown glass, and it's just gotten to be too nasty to clean by hand at this point.

dude, ya gosta make home-made ganja cleaner
dawn dish soap (to cut thru the resin) rubbing alcohol & baking soda (for abrasive action)
put one tablespoon of dawn dishsoap directly in the bong
2 table spoons of baking soda
then slowly, fill the bong with alcohol
let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then scrub with a baby bottle brush
it is important to clean your bong regularly, if you don't, it will harbor some really terrible germs and you will have bacterial infections all winter long!
rinse it out with ammonia water once a week,scrub it once a month

I wouldnt reccomend it, especially since it is handblown glass....Take a bowl(not the bong bowl) and fill it up with rubbing alcohol....completely immerse the bong in the rubbing alcohol and let it soak overnight...should remove most of the resin....ALSO as an added bonus, once you are done soaking the bong, take a thin wire strainer and hold over a mirror, drain off the alcohol and resin flakes ...dump the resin on the mirror and light it on fire, all of the alcohol will burn off, leaving you with some nice resin to smoke when times get tough....

I just saw an episode of Will & Grace where this girl was talking about Will in his college days putting a bong in the dishwasher! My personal opinion is just run hot water thru it. I just don't think it is a good idea to use soap. Lightly scrape the insides with a paper towel, pushing it thru with something like a starighten out paper clip.

i don't think it would hurt the bong, but i don't think the dishwasher would be able to effectively cut through the resin....plus your dishwasher will reek of weed.
I've heard that straight isopropyl alcohol (the kind you can get at the drug store) works really well.
After it's all clean...take a hit for me!

Yes, Put it right next to the spin sprayer. That should take care of any future cleaning issues and improve your health too.

Use a denture cleaner tablet!!! Plug up the holes, fill it with water, and drop a polident tablet in. Let it sit overnight and rinse.
