Mash a head of garlic, and some hot peppers, like cayenne (or habenero, etc). Let steep in a quart of water for 2-3 days.
Strain, pour into spray bottle, add a couple drops of liquid dishsoap. Spray on plants beseiged by chewing and sucking insects. Especially good for flea beetles. Reapply after a rain, and every 3-4 days if no rain.
(by the way - soap alone will only work on soft-bodied insects, like aphids. Won't bother anything with a harder casing, like beetles.)

Mix a half teaspoon of dish detergent with a quart of warm water. Let cool to air temperature and spray on the plants. This will kill most plant pests, it's bio-friendly but could harm some plants. Try it on one before going all out. Just don't make it too strong - more detergent is not better.

the best pesticide for a veggie garden are marigolds. They will keep the bugs away naturally. You can also use things like coffee grinds to help protect the garden also. Check with your local plant nursery and they will help you with what is best for what you are growing. Good luck with the Garden.

There are many different ones. I like to steep garlic and hot peppers for a day or so. Strain and keep the water. Add a little liquid lemon scented dish soap to the water and spray.
If you are battling one bug in particular, catch a bunch of them and smash them and steep in water a few days. Spray and the water will kill a lot of the bugs. One theory is you are spreading disease among the bugs you are spraying.,whatever, it works good

A little dish detergent in water, about the same as you would use to wash a sink full of dishes. Put in a spay bottle and use between rain falls to keep vegetables lightly coated. Makes foliage feel sticky and taste bad to insects. Its more effort then commercial chemicals but so much better for our environment.
