How does a replacement for a 3 ton central air unit (external) cost installed? Say a Rheem or a Trane..?

to replace a 3 ton 13 seer condenser unit(trane), would be around 2500.00, of course, more power equals more money, 13 seer is average, and more could be spent.

My son just bought a Rheem, 3.5 Ton, 13 SEER. He is an electrical technician and installed it himself. He paid $2300.00 for the unit, complete. It tool him and I about two hours to set it, get the ducts reattached, and rewired.

13 seer....installed and tested about $ 2800.00
