My neighbors found a water leak coming from the ceiling. She called a plumber which told her that the source of the leak comes from my apartment. 2 hours later I called the same plumber to fix the leak, of course I paid for the service. Apparently the same plumber asked money from my neighbor for the diagnostic. Now my neighbors is asking me to pay that bill. Should I pay?

Black ants are strutting about our house like they're the Sultan of Brunei and we want to make a stand and evict them like the scum of the earth that they are and reclaim the territory that is rightfully ours - it's not like they pay us rent or anything!

How do we get rid of the ants without being environmentally unfriendly?

NB: I've heard something about using chalk, but I'm not sure how exactly and whether its practical in our situation.

PS. I've seen A Bug's LIfe and Antz and yet I have no sympathy for them at all.

I have 5 problems with my apartment. My landlord and i have discussed these matters and he has promised to fix them; 3 months later...no results. are there any laws that require him to follow through on his word? as of now, there is: 1. a wasp nest on my back porch 2. no light in my very dark hallway 3. a faulty smoke detector right outside of my front door 4. graffiti on my building 5. no mechanical device on the gate that leads to my yard and back entrance. Keep in mind that he has told me on numerous occasions that he would fix these things, but he has done nothing and my patience is wearing thin. my safety is at stake here (vandals only got into my yard because there is no lock on my gate). if you don't know of any laws that protect renters, what would you do to persuade your landlord to take action? only serious responses, please.

I got it from a nice furniture store, its about 7 years old and 5 feet tall. It just toppled over and could have killed me. My brother is going to help me lift it back up but who would I complain to and should I contact any safety organization?

I have just inherited pearls which are perfect apart from 4 which are discoloured and brown.

How is the best way to clean them without taking abrasive to them.

Have tried soaking just water to see if the dirt is on surface but it hasnt budged.
thanks

Today I gave my kids red organic grapes for breakfast. I left them on the counter for most of the morning. When I came back to the container, there was a black widow kind of under the grapes. She was alive, but not moving much. Do you think she came in with the grapes or crawled into the container?

I think they have not been changed since the 1930s or 40s and may have been finished then, but never really kept up. Basically, I want to know what products are best to clean them.
