You have my deepest sympathies...I'm moving too, for the past 3 months I have been moving. Anyway, we get boxes from the liquor store . The drive-thru is always glad to let us take them from the pile next to their building. That way they don't have to deal with them all! They are sturdy and some even have handy dividers! Also convenience stores, ask for their empty bottled water boxes, also very sturdy. Have a ho ho ho lotta fun, there! And don't strain yourself. Like me. Owwwch.

Some will supply but you have to ask them. There may be a charge for the use of the boxes but generally this should not be the case.. Some offer a service of packing your whole house for you. Check whether the firm you use has insurance to cover any damage breakage etc. This can be a bit tricky to claim if they did not do the packing. Make sure all boxes are clearly marked so that they can be placed in the correct rooms on arrival at new home. There are firms that just supply boxes, of course you have to buy them. If you are not happy with the removal firms answer regarding the insurance check out your own house insurance. If removal is not covered you can probably get it covered at a small premium. Happy moving, hope all goes easy.

Check out Argos catalogue (you have an a local store in Inverness). They do a removal package for a 1-2 bed property and a 2-3 bed property (£40 and £50 respectively). Or try your local electrical retailer they may have a supply of large boxes. Only oher things I can suggest is do you know anyone who has access to Iron Mountain supplies (office storage company). They specialise in sturdy boxes for storage if you cant borrow and can arrange to buy it will cost around £55 for 20 boxes. Cheers

Sometimes it depends on what time you go to the supermarkets. Here in Jacksonville, FL, we visit Walmart's around 11pm and in the Housewares/Domestics and surrounding departments, they have tons of flattened boxes sitting around in shopping carts on different aisles. IF there happens to be a sales associate nearby, I'll ask for them first and they usually tell me its ok to take them. But if no one's around, I help myself to a whole bundle. Also, I've had some success with the Meat and Frozen Food departments, not all of the boxes are wet and bloody from leaking. I've found them on like Friday and Saturday mornings. Uhaul in my opinion is a rip off. I would try some of my neighbors, if you talk to them, because some people save every box that their items come in and they may have some that they don't need anymore. Home Depot or Lowe's may be a good place to try as well and sometimes you can just ride around the back of shopping malls, centers, strip malls and individual stores and find flattened boxes ready to go to the dumpster.

Craigslist, Freecycle, Liquor stores and Grocery Stores is the place where you can find packing boxes for moving house. Ask them to save their apple boxes for you to pickup—these freebies are perfect for moving fragile items.

The sell them in Argos, but I would only recommend using this if money isn't an issue as they are really expensive and you will only chuck them away after, when I moved last year, I asked Sainsbury's if they could keep me loads of boxes, they did too, big ones and smaller ones! You don't realise how many you need until you pack it all up!

Your local liquor store. You can buy them at U-Haul or any place that rents moving trucks.
