Please only answer if you have personal experience with this problem. If not write in "hello" and collect your 2 points. Thanks. Paint remover would take ages, & it's not practical to remove the radiator. Thanks.

I was in my crawl space the other day and noticed that there is a lot of condensation on the air conditioning duct work, and it is dripping on top of the vapor barrier. I also noticed that moisture seems high in the crawl space - insulation is damp also.

This seems bad. What kind of technician should I call to look at this problem? An air conditioning repairman, plumber, or other more specific kind of person?

I live in virginia if you know of any regionally specific options.

Thanks.

We have a nest of barnswallow babies in our chimney, The nest is at the bottom of the chimney, right above our flue. We are wondering how the babies will get out as they have a pretty far distance to go up the chimney to get out and don't know how strong they will have to be to accomplish that. They squawk all day long now and seem to be getting stronger. The parents come up and down many times during the day to feed them, starting early in AM and ending at dark. Has anyone had this experience and if so, tell me about their experience.

I have a friend who insist that you should not pour the detergent in the washer before adding the clothes (like my washer directions say). She says some of it will seep down in the holes. She says you should start the washer, let the water build up, then add the detergent.
Does anybody know exactly how a washer works in relation to this so I can determine if this is true or not?

There's no specific source of the odor, but it only occurs when it's very warm outside. It's done this for several years and a completely new H/AC system. AC drains outside. It doesn't appear to be caused by open traps and we really can't find a general smell in the crawlspace ( although I must admit, I can't get down there when it occurs because the entrance to the crawl is too small for me). The house is 50 years old but is very tight. There's no smell in the attic. Plumbers report no smell in the crawl, but haven't been down when the smell occured. The mystery is worse than the odor. It smells bad, but not horrible. It's not a moldy smell, although the crawl is typically cool and musty. The only consistencies are the outside hot temperature and the use of the AC being the triggers-no problem in the cooler morning or evening AC or using the heat in the winter. If someone can figure this out, a small army of baffled plumbers and sewer experts (and us) will be greatful!

This is my first summer in a medium-sized city in upstate NY, and so far I've only seen 1 skunk, but I smell them almost every night! I have to keep my windows open because I don't have air conditioning. Usually the smell goes away fairly quickly, but is there any way to keep the skunks away from my house?! Please?! :(

Thanks.

We just built a house in the woods and I went out to water my dog when I spotted what looked like a pile of brown dog fur. I'm thinking my dog's gone mad and pulled a bunch of hair out, but when I reached down to pick it up, the whole pile moved! It was hundreds of harvestmen or "Daddy Long-Legs"! I absolutely freaked out! Then today, I was sweeping off the porch and saw another HUGE pile of them in the transom above the front door! How do you get rid of these nasty things?

i own a Craftsman Eager 21" 6.5HP Mulcher Lawn Mower (Model #: 944.362520). I recently replaced the blade with a new mulching blade but now Im wondering if it was installed correctly. How can i be sure the mulching blade isn't installed upside down as I can quite easily install it either way.

There is a imprint on the blade that says this side down which i installed it as but how can i be sure this is correct for my mower?

The blade also had the imprint:
