It may take you a while to find the items you want, but estate auctions are the cheapest places to buy almost any household item, including furniture. Keep in mind that antique furniture will not be cheap, but all other furniture will usually be a bargain. I have seen high quality couches, that looked brand new, sell for under $50.00.
Look for upcoming auctions in your local newspaper and visit the auctioneers websites where items are often listed and pictured.
Good luck with your search for furniture.

I got my bedroom set from Value City. It looks great and it is of good quality. I got a dresser, mirror, 2 nightstand and a queen bed for a little less than $1500.
If that is still a bit pricy definitely consider garage sales, Salvation Army and Estate Sales. Don't be afraid to buy things and revamp them yourself. Sometimes just a new paint job can create a whole new look. Now that it is summer, you find tons and tons of garage sales. Spend a few weekends looking around. Bargain with the owners, they most likely will lower the price because they just want to get rid of it.

i personally think garage sales are good for finding some good quality furniture... especially Estate sales... i would stay away from consign shops b/c of prices... thrift stores will be cheap(sometimes) but consist mainly of college type quality furniture if you know what i mean... (the ratty couch you hate but got b/c it was like 30bones) lol... hit up estate sales... thats where ive found some of the coolest/ cheapest things... normally on sundays they have everything for half price so.. find something and wait till sunday and bargain with them.

All. For retail stores I suggest TARGET. Man they got some really great quality stuff. And don't let them have a sale. It's fantabulous!!!!! I would even venture to some of the 2nd hand stores, I've found some great stuff.

None of the above !
Try thrift stores, as I did like :
1) Salvation Army.
2) CHKD (Children's Hospital of King's Daughters.
I'm sure there are others, you'll be surprised, at the quality,
& the money you will save !
