I was in my crawl space the other day and noticed that there is a lot of condensation on the air conditioning duct work, and it is dripping on top of the vapor barrier. I also noticed that moisture seems high in the crawl space - insulation is damp also.

This seems bad. What kind of technician should I call to look at this problem? An air conditioning repairman, plumber, or other more specific kind of person?

I live in virginia if you know of any regionally specific options.

Thanks.

first i would call the home inspector.......then he will probably tell u to install moving air vents......also he should check that the duct work is not leaking.....then the hvac man to come and inspect the duct work..its leaking air i would assume.

then be sure to ask the inspector to check ur insulation....

I would first call the air conditioning person to see how you could further ventilate the space underneath to control the condensation on the ductwork. you may want to separately insulate the ducting to control the direct contact of the cold ducting and the warm air in the space. if it is an 'interior' usable crawl space, i would recommend a dehumidifier or fan to circulate the air. You may also want to contact a general contractor specializing in moisture/basements/mold.
