Our lawn is overrun buy weeds(my dad says for now it's ok since it makes the lawn look green). What's the easiest and most effective way to get rid of weeds without killing the grass?

My dad tried Weed & Feed in the front yard, but ended up putting too much and the grass sort of lost it's color.

He tried Weed B' Gone, but it didn't work, we figured it was because it was very old...

Weed-Be-Gone, Weed-Be-Gone, Weed-Be-Gone,
Did I say it enough. I thought the commercial that they were airing was bogus, but I tried it and it is great!!!!! My yard was looking like I was spending the hundreds that my neighbors were spending for professional service. You may have to apply it a couple of times during the season (about 8 weeks later) but my grass (I think is centipede) really filled in nicely with the weeds gone. My 2nd application will be for some of the stubborn weeds that came back before my grass had a chance to fill in so there aren't as many weeds as there were with my first application.

Your dad sounds like me before I tried the very inexpensive Weed-B-Gone

If there is enough grass to make it worth saving try using a broadcast spreader to apply a weed & feed fertilizer on the lawn I like to also spray the nastier areas with weed be gone, see how it looks after about 2 weeks and decide if you can patch up bare areas or if you need to start over.

If you happen to know a farmer, have him spray your lawn. The grass will grow so thick that no weeds will get through. This works like a charm. Try turf builder by scott's, a friend said it worked well.

Use a product called 2-4d. It kills everything BUT the grass.
