We live on a man-made lake in a suburb of Buffalo, NY. I have tried erecting a small fence, string, etc. along the water's edge to no avail. The geese seem to jump or fly over my barrier. Plus the barriers do not look good. The mess is driving me crazy. Help.

I have a plant come up in my garden and I have a horrible feeling it may be deadly nightshade/belladonna. How can I confirm this? Also if it is how do I get rid of it permanently? It's very pretty but it's in my front garden and the local kids play there and I don't want them getting hurt from it.

I'm seriously considering building a rather authentic backyard bar-B-Que pit/Smoker. I obviously want the best tasting Bar-B-Que that can be slow cooked for 8 - 12 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions on design, materials, construction, etc.? I'm working with a 10' X 10' area

Looking to keep costs under $2K

The tree is some type of a berry tree that the birds and squirrerls love but the mess they leave on my driveway and cars. It is a beautiful full tree offering lots of shade. I don't want to cut it down. Can it be sprayed with something to keep it from bearing fruit? The tree was given to me and was suppose to be a linden tree-not!

My wife and I started a hibisus plant from a nursery 3 seasons ago. It started out great and has only gotten better.....maybe a little too better. Began with one shoot and flowered tremendously. Now we have 7 shoots from the same plant. It's kind of taking over its space. Can I divide this plant?

Our Frigidaire ultraquiet 1 dishwasher has always worked fine, with no problems. Then suddenly, out of the blue it stopped working last night.
I checked the dish load and it's fairly small, and nothing is blocking the door.
The door is shut tight.
I even went out and checked the fusebox, and the breakers are all fine.

I'm stumped. What would cause it to up and die like this?

Also, I tried turning the dial all the way around, and I noticed that the inner-soap compartment did NOT open. Shouldn't this open if the dial is completely spun?

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

I'm trying to get an idea of the price differences between units of different efficiencies, i.e., SEERs. Especially, I'm trying to evaluate if it is reasonable to upgrade to a high efficiency unit eligible for the energy tax credit.

I am especially interested in the various lines of Carrier units.

We are planning a deck for our yard. On one side of the yard, we have a 100 year old Oak tree. In MN, we must have footings that are at least 4 feet deep. We do not want to injure the oak tree in the process of building our deck.
