Expandible screens are available at any home center, lumber yard, and at many hardware stores. They come in various heights and expand to fill the width of the opening. They are very inexpensive.

Good luck with your project.

There two types of portable window screening that I'm aware of. One is just screen wire with wood edges-- place in the opening, slide the sides out to the window track and bring the window down to top the screen, closing off any cracks for insects to get in. Very handy with no other screens.
The second one has screen AND venting-- which then lets you screen and let in fresh air, but you don't have to worry about rain- the venting sheds water-- if placed facing down!
Neither of these screens are secure-- so keep that in mind.
These screens can be bought online-- just be sure and measure the total opening- height and width.
Yes, I have seen these at Ace Hardware--
Good luck

You didn't provide a lot of detail in your question.

But if you go to a hardware store (or perhaps a Kmart, Walmart or Target) you can usually find screen mounted on a metal frame with wooden sides that expands to different widths. You can open a window, stand this inside the frame, then push the window down on top of it...providing a screened window without having to install any real hardware. They're cheap, too.

The answer that jmofwiw gave is right but you also might consider putting a screen on the outside of the window by making a wooden frame and stapling window screening to it
Good luck

There are small expandable screens available at Hardware stores. You raise the window set the screen in the opening and close the sash to it. They look like they would work great/
