The tree is some type of a berry tree that the birds and squirrerls love but the mess they leave on my driveway and cars. It is a beautiful full tree offering lots of shade. I don't want to cut it down.Can it be sprayed with something to keep it from bearing fruit? The tree was given to me and was suppose to be a linden tree-not!

Your tree can be sprayed with a fruit eliminator. You can read about the stuff here:

I've never used this type product, but using it would be better than cutting the shade tree down and starting over!

Your tree might be a fruiting mulberry. I remember eating those fruits years ago, very, very sweet. They look like blackberries, but taste quite different. Might make a good fruit jelly!
