Women's Health - November 2007

I started taking thyroid medication about three weeks ago, and this month my period is really late. I can't tell exactly how late because it comes at different times but I usually ALWAYS get it towards the beginning of the month. I took a pregnancy test last week and it was negative, so I waited another week, and took another one, and it's still negative, so I know I'm not pregnant. I'm just wondering if it's the thyroid medication that's messing it up.

okay i got my period on sunday..and my period is different all the time and i dont track it..i know bad...and sometimes i get it for like 4 days some times longer but probably like 5 days this time..when will i have it in december? whats your guess?

i have had my period about 5 times and they all have been 4 or 5 days long, but ever since last week, my period wont stop!! this is my ninth day and im really aggravated cuz this is not my favorite thing in the world???!!!! so is this normal, and wats the longest period you have had.. please help.. im getting really worried. thanks

I'm 19 years old and started losing my hair about a year ago. I can't afford to go see a doctor, and I'm not sure what is causing my hair to fall out. I have a handful of hair fall out in the shower plus more throughout the day. I probably have about 4 or more bald spots(penny to quarter size). I just had a baby 3 months ago, I was balding before that, and it was worse when I was pregnant, but I am still losing hair and finding new bald spots every time I turn around.

What I'm asking is what do you think could be the cause? And if you recomend any kind of shampoo or vitamins or anything to help my hair grow back. I used to have the thickest long hair, I loved it and am very depressed with having to wear my hair in a certain way all the time. I just want my hair back, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou so much.

I'm not on birth control, and I do have eczama and asthma. I smoke, have been smoking since I was 15. Not under any paticular stress...

okay ive had my period for just about over a year ago..i got it on early sunday morning..and today i didnt have it?! and then i just got it back like an hour ago and do you think that if you like sleep with a tampon or just use one..it lessens your period..thats how it is with me it seems like

right next to my left hip bone semi in my pelvic region. i web md ed it but i couldn't pinpoint the location. it's on the inside of my left hip bone right close to the top of it. it's been hurting on and off for the past week and a half and it's also tender to the touch. any idea what this is? sometimes it's so painful that i almost cry :( i also just had a baby 3 months ago via c section but the pain is 1 in over and 2 inches higher than my incision. and it's completely healed already. any ideas? also what can i do to relieve this pain. it's excruciating :(

i am on swim team mon-fri. I just got my 3rd period. I don't really want to use tampons since its only my third period but i can't miss a week of practice either. Both of my coaches are boys so i do not really want to tell them. Are there any other options for me?

I am on a birth control for cramps and my mom knows about it
however i do have sex with my boyfriend but we use a condom
i skipped my period last month on the pill on purpose doctor advised now i have been having brown discharge and cramps a week before my due period
is this normal or could i be pregnant please please help and i cant take a pregnancy test or go to the doctor because my mom doesnt know i have sex

I was in the bathroom the other day and I noticed that there was some brownish discharge in my underwear, it had no odor to it, just brown. And it kind of freaked me out, I have no idea what it is... And then for the past like month or so, I randomly vomit, not like everyday, but I feel dizzy and then everytime I vomit, it seems to be the food that i've eaten that day. It really does scare me. Oh, and I'm on birth control, I don't know if that might have anything to do with it or not?

Past 2mos my period has been irregular. The 1st day for my last period was Oct. 15th. This month was a little weird. I began spotting on Nov 6th very little only when I would wipe.Stopped on Nov 8th but began to spot a little more on Nov 9th flow was a little bit more heavy where i needed a pad but not to bad.changed pad twice all day. I thought I could have been pregnant cuz Im trying to conceive but on Nov 13th flow got alot heavier flow. I don't have severe pain. Just mild cramping. This had never happen before. Is it normal to bleed like this before your period. Now my period will be over till like Nov 17th or so. I think its to long. Im 29yrs old never been on birth control. I had a miscarriage 4yrs ago. I need to know if this is a normal cycle? And what day do I count as my first day if I began spotting on Nov 6th but was hardly nothing didnt have to wear a pad at all til friday. How do I figure out what day I ovulate? When trying to get pregnant do your periods become irregular?

Okay, I started my period almost two years ago and it hasn't been completely regular yet, but isn't it supposed to become regular after a year? Since March it had been coming about once a month and then around August it started coming every three weeks and now the last one I had was in like September and it was really, really light and now I haven't had one since then. I NEED 2 GROW?

I dont know why im always flowing heavy, i drink almost every weekend, and i eat a lot of spicy foods, but every time i get my rag, i be cramping bad and it lasts for about 5 days! Its really nasty and i dont want to go to the doctor. oh and sometimes when i just left it, whenever i Fu*k i get it again! I have to buy like 2 packs of pads every month. So anyway, I was wondering if you can get pregnant off the Depo shot? Isn't it like 99% effective? I got my first Depo shot at in the middle of September, my past period being August 21st. The doctor didn't want to wait until my next cycle for my period so she gave it to me on Sept. 19th. My guy and I had sex on Sep. 28, 29 and 30 under the asumption that I was protected. I didn't have my period until the 2nd week of October and it was dark, thick blood lasted 2 days I think. Nothing for two weeks and then I had watery, thin blood everyday for about three weeks. Now I haven't bleed in over a week but for three to four weeks now I have been nauseous, throwing up in the middle of the night, tension headaches, no appetite, constipated and smells are making my stomach turn. Oh, the other day I was so exhausted at work I came for two hours to nap! Possibility I am pregnant? This is my first round of Depo and I have heard of people getting pregnant! I have a doc appt in an hour! Help!!!

i just had my first baby 6 days ago and shes my everything..but shes not a good sleeper..she sleeps all day i mean all day from 7 in the morning till 11:30 pm she dosnt even wake up unless its to eat or get her diaper changed or be picked up then as soon as i do shes back to sleeping..but then at 11:30 shes wide awake and wont sleep for nothing and cries alot shes very fussy at night she hasnt even slept in her crib yet only the down stairs baby cradle for during the day when im down stairs and she wont even sleep in it at night..if i stop holding her at night she screams and i dont get to sleep during the day so im not sleeping at all and its driving me insane..the only thing i can do is lay on the couch and hold her in my arms in a position she cant roll or move in..then she sleeps but i dont wanna sleep with her because its not recommended but i dont want to fall asleep with her in my arms with me in the rocking chair either during the day nothing keeps her awake helppppppppppppppp

I Just Started The Birth Control Pill Femcon Fe About a week and a half ago and wanted to know a little more about it.. So if you could please tell me your personal experience (good or bad) with this B/C pill I would really appreciate it . As for me So far I Havent had any real bad side effects just cramps here and there..oh yeah I Kinda broke out a little more than usual but I Guess It's just My body reacting to the meds..

My wife is 18 weeks pregnant and just had an u/s where the doctor found a bright spot on the heart and a cyst on the brain.
